Introducing Group Five Pipe

In 1991 Group Five Pipe designed and built their first factory to make spirally welded pipes. The factory was built in Cape Town with a direct link to the harbour to cater for the export market.

The first contract was the supply of a 30km pipeline with pipes ranging from 1800mm to 2400mm in diameter for the Cape Town City Council. The Cape Town factory has since been awarded further contracts for pipelines and piling.

To cater for the South African market Group Five Pipe commissioned their second factory near Johannesburg in 1994 and it was awarded a contract to make 35km of 2900mm diameter pipes for Rand Water, the largest water supply authority in Southern Africa. One year later the factory had to be doubled in size, to cope with the increasing demand for spirally welded steel pipes.

Group Five Pipe were awarded a contract to build a 7500m² pipe factory for Rand Water on a turnkey basis. Group Five Pipe supplies a wide range of specialised pipe making equipment to both local and overseas pipe manufacturers.

Group Five Pipe specialises in erecting temporary pipe factories where it is not viable for a permanent setup. Cranes and pipe making equipment can be shipped within a very short time to tackle any pipe contracts.
